Glossary
Terms you'll see often in KURAPRO, in alphabetical order.
A–C
- Adjustment: a task that records the change directly (increase/decrease). Used for rounding adjustments, moving stock between locations, etc.
- Administrator: a permission level that can do company settings, member management, deleting products, payment management and so on.
- Average cost: the average cost calculated automatically from inbound purchase prices. Used in moving-average costing.
- Barcode: a code that identifies a product. You can register multiple per product, but they cannot be duplicated within the company. Not case-sensitive.
- Client: a counterparty such as a supplier or customer. Selectable in inbound/outbound (optional). → Managing clients
- Company (organization): the unit in which data is managed. Members, products, stock, tasks and clients all belong to one company.
- Completed (task history): an executed task. It is reflected in stock counts.
- Costing method: the method for calculating asset value and gross profit. Chosen per company from moving-average, standard costing, or no costing. → Cost & gross profit
- Custom fields: fields you can add specific to your company. There are product fields (up to 30) and task fields (up to 10), with types such as text, number and date. → Custom fields
- CSV: a file format for exchanging data in bulk. Import/export is for paid plans. → CSV, barcode & images
D–L
- EAN-13: one barcode format. Created automatically by KURAPRO's "barcode generation."
- Expiry: one of the stock fields. A date such as a use-by or best-before date. You can manage a product separately by that date. → Stock fields
- General member: see Member.
- Gross profit: outbound amount − the total cost of the stock sent out. How it is determined varies by costing method.
- Inbound: a task that increases stock (purchasing, accepting returns, etc.). You can enter a purchase unit price. → Tasks
- Inbound amount / outbound amount: the total of "unit price × quantity" for inbound/outbound. Can be tallied in reports.
- Location: one of the stock fields. The name of a storage place such as a warehouse, store or shelf (free text).
- Lot: one of the stock fields. An identifier such as a manufacturing number.
M–R
- Maximum stock / minimum stock: numbers used to judge stock alerts. Below the minimum is "short," above the maximum is "excess."
- Member: a user who shares the data of the same company. Two permission levels: administrator and general member.
- Memo: one of the custom fields provided by default.
- Moving-average costing: see Costing method / Average cost.
- Negative stock: when the stock count goes below 0. You can choose "allow / disallow" in company settings. → Company settings
- No costing: a costing method that manages only quantity, without amounts or gross profit.
- Outbound: a task that decreases stock (selling, disposal, etc.). You can enter a sale unit price.
- Plan (scheduled task): a task at the planning stage. It is not reflected in stock counts.
- Product: an item that is the subject of inventory management. You register product name, SKU, standard cost, barcode and so on. → Managing products
- Purchase unit price: the unit price entered in an inbound task. Used to calculate average cost in moving-average costing.
- Reports: tallies of inbound, outbound, sales and gross profit per period. Only completed inbound/outbound are included. → Reports
S–Z
- Sale unit price: the unit price entered in an outbound task. Used to calculate gross profit.
- SKU: Stock Keeping Unit. A code that identifies a product. Once set, it cannot be duplicated within the company.
- Standard cost: a fixed cost set per product. Used in standard costing.
- Standard costing: see Costing method.
- Stock: "how many you have right now" for each product. Enabling stock fields (location, lot, expiry) counts it separately per combination.
- Stock alert: a feature that tells you when stock is "too low (short)" or "too high (excess)." Judged per product by minimum/maximum stock. → Stock alerts
- Stock fields: the collective term for location, lot and expiry. Enable only the ones you need. → Stock fields
- Stocktaking: a task in which you enter the actual stock count and the difference with current stock is matched automatically.
- Temporary password: a one-time sign-in password sent by email when you forget your password or are invited (also called a passcode). Valid only once. → Account & sign-in
- UTF-8: the recommended character encoding for CSV files.
