Adding product fields
Colour. Size. The supplier’s part number. Handling notes. What you want to record on a product differs by business, so KURAPRO lets you add your own fields. These are called product fields.
To add fields to transactions instead, see transaction fields.
Adding one
Administrators manage these.
- Open “Other.”
- Choose Product fields.
- Press Add field, or tap an existing field to edit it.
- Set a field name and a field type.
- Set the display options below and save.
You can add up to 30 fields.
Field types
| Type | Good for | Searchable |
|---|---|---|
| Text | Colour, size, part number — short strings | ○ |
| Multiline text | Notes, handling instructions | ○ |
| Number | Weight, units per case | − |
| Date | Purchase date, registration date | − |
Text and multiline text are matched by search on the Stock screen. If you want to find products by part number, use one of those two. Number and date fields are for recording only.
Display options
- Show in list — the value appears on each row of the stock list. Good for things you judge at a glance, like colour or size.
- Show in sort — the field becomes available as a sort key on the stock list.
Even with both off, the field still appears on the product’s detail screen.
The “Memo” field you start with
A new company comes with one product field called “Memo” (multiline text, shown in list). Use it as-is, rename it, or delete it — whatever suits you.
Before you change or delete
- Deleting a field also deletes that field’s values on every product, and can’t be undone. Export a CSV first if you might want the data.
- Renaming a field or changing its type applies to existing products immediately.
