Scanning barcodes
Scanning is the fastest way to enter anything on the floor. KURAPRO uses your phone’s camera as the barcode reader, so there’s no handheld terminal to buy.
Both barcodes and QR codes are supported.
How to use it
- Open a transaction on the “Transaction” tab, or create a new one.
- From the add-product menu, choose Add by barcode.
- The camera opens. Hold it over the product’s barcode.
- When the product is found, a confirmation appears. Adjust the quantity and confirm.
- Carry straight on to the next product.
If the code isn’t registered to any product, you’ll hear a tone and see “Product not found.” Register the barcode on the product first. → Registering and editing products
Scanning the same product again
The quantity goes up by one each time. Scan the shelf item by item and the count builds itself — no counting first, then typing.
On transactions that reduce stock, such as outbound, it counts in the same way in the other direction.
Previous values are filled in for you
Rows added by scanning come pre-filled to save typing.
- Unit price — the price you last used for that product on the same type of transaction (last purchase price for inbound, last sale price for outbound).
- Location, lot, expiry — carried over from what you entered a moment ago in the same transaction.
You can change any of it on the spot. Only touch what differs.
Barcodes that carry more than the product code
When the shelf number, lot or a sequence number sits in the same barcode as the product code, scanning it finds nothing. Set up a scan pattern and KURAPRO takes only the part you need out of the value that was read, then searches with that (e.g. A01_12345_0001 → 12345).
The button at the bottom of the scan screen shows the pattern in use, or “Do not convert” when there is none. Press it to switch. → Scan patterns
When a code won’t read
- The barcode isn’t registered — add it on the product’s edit screen. Several per product is fine.
- The code carries more than the product code — use a scan pattern to pull out just the part you need.
- The product has no printed barcode — add it on the label print screen to generate an EAN-13, then print it as a label.
- The camera won’t start — allow camera access for KURAPRO in your device settings.
- Dark or shaky — work in good light, hold 10–20 cm away, and let it settle.
You can search by barcode too
Typing a barcode into the search box on the stock or transaction screen finds the product. Note that barcodes match exactly — a partial code finds nothing.
